2. Consent Requirements
In compliance with the FCRA and applicable state laws, we require explicit written consent before conducting any background check on an individual. This includes:
- Standalone Disclosure: A clear, written disclosure that a background check will be conducted, provided in a document consisting solely of the disclosure
- Written Authorization: A signed authorization form from the subject of the background check
- Purpose Limitation: Consent is obtained for a specific, stated permissible purpose only
- Right to Withdraw: Individuals may withdraw consent at any time prior to report completion
3. Data Minimization
We collect only the personal information necessary to fulfill the specific background check service ordered. We do not collect or retain data beyond what is required for the stated purpose.
4. Data Breach Response
In the event of a data breach involving your personal information, we will:
- Notify affected individuals within 72 hours of discovery, where required by law
- Notify applicable regulatory authorities as required
- Take immediate steps to contain and remediate the breach
- Provide guidance on protective steps you can take
